Two Terrific Tasty BBQ Rib Recipes.

Here are two delicious BBQ rib recipes, one for classic American-style ribs and another with a sweet and spicy Asian twist:

1. Classic BBQ Pork Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for spice)
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Rub olive oil over the ribs.
  3. Mix spices: In a bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Rub the spice mix evenly over both sides of the ribs.
  4. Bake ribs: Place ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, cover tightly with more foil, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
  5. Grill or broil: Heat your grill or oven broiler. Brush ribs generously with BBQ sauce. Grill or broil for 5-7 minutes, flipping halfway through until the sauce is caramelized.
  6. Rest and serve: Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

2. Sweet and Spicy Asian BBQ Ribs

Ingredients:

  • 2 racks pork baby back ribs
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sriracha (optional for heat)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Prepare ribs: Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs. Rub soy sauce and sesame oil over the ribs.
  3. Marinate: In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, hoisin sauce, honey, sriracha, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and five-spice powder. Rub this mixture evenly over the ribs. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more flavor).
  4. Bake ribs: Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil, cover with foil, and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until tender.
  5. Grill or broil: Heat your grill or oven broiler. Brush the ribs with the remaining marinade or extra honey. Grill or broil for 5-7 minutes until caramelized.
  6. Garnish and serve: Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds before slicing and serving.
